Suggestion, other than ditching and getting the handwired alnico blues version.Ĭarried it from my truck to house, and even with wheels, it weighs a ton. That, and I technically i really got it for the wife, so selling is not on the short list.
Vox ac30cc2 upgrade#
In the past I would upgrade tubes, replace speakers, and sometimes even have someone improve with mods, but when I am done with the amp and try and sell, you dont get it back. Is it the wharf dales? Or is it in general not that loud of an amp. So, is it just a cheap vox and that’s what you get? Could a tube be shot? You cant see the tubes, they are blocked by a solid panel. I plugged the same guitar into my 57 twin reissue, and yes its a 40 watt amp, but at half the volume it was considerably louder. It helped a little to increase volume, but it still doesn’t feel like it pushing out what it should. I looked up the manual, and one switch seems to make the tubes run hotter, giving you more head room before break up. Not knowing much about them, I looked at the back and these are a few switches my 15 didn’t have. It’s was too loud for the family, but sitting right in front of it, the main dimed and the gain almost all the way, very creamy, but not ear pain loud. When i plugged into mine, I couldn’t seem to get a loud volume out of it. BRANDMODELSKUCONDITIONSERIALREGULAR PRICESALE.ACOUSTIC AMPLIFIERSB50C717744NEW299. He also used a floorboard that was 4 ft by 4 ft. I heard someone play one last summer, It don’t know if it was this model as I didn’t get close, but it was loud. I know they are not known for great cleans at high volumes, but the 15 was too short. Ditched it because I would rarely use it, and to me the few times I put it next to a drummer, it lost its clean headroom. By comparison, I had a AC15 with a greenback last year. Had some things I noticed, and was wondering if its me, or this is how they are. Got it for my wife to use, but I played on it a bit yesterday. I just got a used, but very clean condition AC30CC2. knob so I tried to replace the rectifier tube with JJ GZ34. My AC30CC2 started making crackling noise when I turn the Master V. That is the number one issue about this amp, but my amp tech told me to never use the standby switch and following his advice I have not encountered any issues.Hi all. I can combine normal and top boost channels, change the normal channel to be brighter, and on the back of the amp there are even more options to tweak, so you can get the sound you are looking for. The real cool thing about this amp is how tweakable it is.

The reverb is very usable and the tremolo is a nice feature. But I have also cranked it up when jamming with other people and it more than holds its own. thats right, I play this in my apartment, the master volume works that well. This amp sounds incredible at apartment suitable volumes. I can get amazing sparkling cleans or rich overdrive, often just by changing my picking dynamics. There is 1/4' input as well as an effects loop, which is a new feature.

This amp really brings out the character of my guitar (which is telecaster). This amplifier is a recreation of Vox's celebrated AC30 amplifier, a legendary amp in some circles.

however I have to say that this is one of my favorite amps I have played (second only to a Matchless DC30 but the DC30 is still outdone by this amp in some cases). At first I was very hesitant because I had read about several reliability issues online before buying.

I bought this amp used from my local guitar shop. Amplification technology: Valve (vacuum tube) Power (RMS): 50 W Add to compare.
